  17.   Rhenium is an extremely hard, dense, silvery-white metal. It is acid
  18. resistant and does not dissolve at all in hydrochloric acid. Its melting
  19. temperature is among the highest of all known elements. If rhenium were
  20. not so heavy and rare, it would be an ideal structural metal for
  21. instruments used in hazardous environments.
