- [Properties]
-
- Rhenium is an extremely hard, dense, silvery-white metal. It is acid
- resistant and does not dissolve at all in hydrochloric acid. Its melting
- temperature is among the highest of all known elements. If rhenium were
- not so heavy and rare, it would be an ideal structural metal for
- instruments used in hazardous environments.
- Rhenium is in Group VIIB of the transition metals.
